According to the fairy tales of Ivana Brlić Mažuranić, Ogulin has become the homeland of fairy tales, where the International Ogulin Fairy Tale Festival (OGFB) is held every June.

Many motifs from local stories and legends have found a place in the names of citizens' associations, songs, events. Thus, they became part of the life of the city and the tourist offer.

The fairytale natural heritage that Ivana Brlić-Mažuranić emphasized in her autobiography (Klek, the romance of the Dobra river) and the rich cultural and historical heritage (especially folk costumes, customs) really give our region a strong sense of fairytale. This impression is completed by the Frankopan Castle, a castle in the very center of the city. The people of Ogulin have always attached great importance to the preservation of their intangible heritage.
